Epic Principal Trainer - Hybrid
UC San Diego Health is seeking an Epic Principal Trainer to join their dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional Epic training experiences for front line clinicians. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining curriculum, facilitating training for new hires, and providing support during Go Lives, with a regular onsite presence in San Diego, CA.

Facilitating Epic training for new hires
Designing, developing, and maintaining curriculum for assigned application area(s)
Conducting site visits in hospital and clinic settings
Shadowing end users to assess workflows and evaluate training effectiveness
Providing in person, at the elbow support during Go Lives
Maintaining regular onsite presence in San Diego
Qualification
Required
Epic Certification
Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training in EMR healthcare training, instructional design, or curriculum development, preferably with Epic, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related EMR healthcare training and instructional design experience, preferably with Epic. Related experience also includes: healthcare information systems support experience in academic medical centers or large integrated health systems
Thorough knowledge of health care information systems
Thorough knowledge of adult learning theories and training methodologies
Ability to train physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong presentation skill including ability to facilitate classroom, on-line and one-on-one training
Ability to comprehend technical and / or functional manuals and instructions
Ability to effectively adapt to changing curriculum
Ability to coordinate multiple priorities
Ability to troubleshoot basic PC and Epic issues
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, email, internet, and other systems
Preferred
Epic certification or equivalent Epic credential for Inpatient ClinDoc, and/or Orders, and/or ASAP
Epic certification or equivalent Epic credential for Training Environment certification
Epic certification or equivalent Epic credential for Clinical Informatics certification
Experience with Epic's Training Wheels, UserWeb, Nova Notes, and upgrade processes
Experience developing eLearning modules using tools like Articulate, Rise, ClipChamp, or similar
Experience designing instructor-led, virtual and blended learning pathways including curriculum development
Experience creating and maintaining Amplifire adaptive learning modules
Experience working in inpatient and ED clinical settings
Experience creating tipsheets, quick start guides, and workflow-based reference materials
Ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously
Strong customer service skills
Commitment to continuous improvement and learning
