Network Engineer I

Responsibilities
Assist with the configuration, monitoring, and management of Palo Alto firewalls, or actively pursue the required training to support firewall administration and network security
Support deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of HPE/Aruba switches and wireless access points in both wired and wireless network environments
Participate in routine network maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, and hardware replacements
Monitor network performance and health, identify potential issues, and escalate or resolve incidents as appropriate
Document network configurations, changes, and processes in accordance with company standards
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Zero Trust security principles across the network infrastructure
Collaborate with senior network engineers and IT staff to support ongoing operations and project delivery
Qualification
Required
Basic understanding of firewall administration, preferably with Palo Alto Networks devices, or a strong willingness to learn
Working knowledge of HPE/Aruba networking solutions, or the ability and motivation to rapidly develop these skills
Familiarity with core networking technologies, including: TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, STP
General awareness of Zero Trust security concepts and their application in enterprise environments
Ability to interpret network diagrams and follow standard operating procedures
Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn new technologies
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred
Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Entry-level certifications are a plus, including: CompTIA Network+, HPE Network Switching Associate, Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Practitioner
Experience with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems
Exposure to public cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure
