Responsibilities

Develop imaginative, thorough, practicable technical solutions to a wide range of difficult Mechanical Design problems
Perform detailed design of electro-mechanical devices, equipment and subsystems including modeling, drafting, and tolerance analysis in direct collaboration with an integrated engineering team
Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation (layouts, drawings, 3D models, parts lists, Engineering Change Notices, (ECN’s), vendor parts, etc.) per ASME Y14.100 and MIL-Spec standards

Required

Associate's degree in Drafting and Design Technology, or 4 years relevant experience as a mechanical designer
Ability to visualize components and assemblies in 3D
Solid working knowledge of drafting principles
Familiarity with ASME Y14 series of standards
Working knowledge and use of ASME Y14.5-1994 (Dimensioning and Tolerancing) applications and fundamentals
Experience with mechanism development, prototyping, and packaging
Familiarity with and ability to use computer-aided design tools is required; Siemens NX strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparation of design documentation
Highly organized and efficient
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Secret eligibility required
Desire and ability to operate in a team environment is required

Preferred

Military hardware design and integration experience
Experience in a DoD environment and model-based systems engineering
Active Secret Clearance
