Technical Trainer

Cloud and Things is dedicated to transforming the public sector’s IT environment by solving complex IT challenges. They are seeking a Technical Trainer who will support their State client by creating and facilitating technical and user training sessions, updating training materials, and managing multiple training deliverables.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Training Plan - Create and annually refresh a comprehensive training plan covering system updates, county staff training, technical training, and virtual training tools, updating as directed by State managers
Update and manage training materials - Review, create, and maintain all DIMS training materials (user guides, PowerPoints, videos, job aids, FAQs) in multiple formats, submitting materials for two rounds of review with State managers
Deliver in-person and virtual training - Conduct monthly training classes (typically 1 day, 6-7 hours) for up to 30 students either in-person or via Zoom/Teams
Provide technical training - Deliver specialized, hands-on technical training to State technical resources annually or as needed, ranging from 1 day to 1 week in duration
Conduct system demonstrations - Schedule and provide monthly one-hour demonstrations of DIMS capabilities to promote awareness of system features
Create job aids and reference materials - Develop and maintain cheat sheets/job aids on approved topics for end-user reference
Produce training videos - Create short how-to video snippets covering topics like system overview, batch processing, and indexing
Maintain training documentation - Manage all training materials using State-provided DIMS Document Repository, keeping classroom and virtual materials as separate versions
Provide ongoing training support - Answer questions from State-led training sessions immediately via phone, email, or WebEx during and after classes
Support system transitions - Train successor contractors during turnover activities and update materials for system enhancements, Child Care programs, and major upgrades as requested
Develop and maintain Risk Management Plan - Submit final Risk Management Plan and update quarterly, addressing risk identification, ranking/scoring, mitigation strategies, and communication protocols

Required

5+ years of experience as a Trainer developing and delivering corporate or government (ideally State) programs
5+ years of experience delivering both in-person and virtual training sessions using various platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc)
2+ years of experience with document management systems and version control repositories
2+ years of experience creating user guides, job aids, presentations, and/or other relevant training materials
Demonstrated experience training groups of 15-30 participants or more for up to 1 day to full week sessions
Advanced skills in MS Office Suite and PDF
Experience producing 5-10 minute instructional content, including scripting, recording, and editing of videos for business use
Experience gathering business requirements from State managers and translating them into comprehensive, easy-to-use/understand user guides and training sessions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences (end-users to technical staff)
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and incorporate feedback professionally

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communications, or related field
