Staff Skunk Works Subsystem Design Engineer
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Subsystem Design Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works®) in Palmdale, California. The successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft subsystems design and installation problems, including developing and validating subsystem designs and troubleshooting system malfunctions.

Responsibilities
Develop, test, and validate new and modified subsystem designs
Troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine root cause and corrective action
Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work
Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans
Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer
Support manufacturing, ground/flight test and customer operating locations
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
This position will require a government security clearance
Develop, test, and validate new and modified subsystem designs

Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans

Support manufacturing, ground/flight test and customer operating locations
9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
Preferred
Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5
Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
Experience with metallic design
Experience with tubing and equipment installation
Excellent writing and communication skills
Active Top Secret clearance
