Responsibilities

Leverage deep expertise in the U.S. market to develop and execute a business development strategy focused on increasing machine builder (OEM) specification and adoption of Gates products across target applications
Develop, own, and execute a multi-year business plan aligned with the Americas Strategic Plan, delivering profitable growth against defined revenue and cost objectives
Serve as the primary market and technical voice for machine builder OEMs by translating OEM architectures, system designs, and application requirements into internal product, engineering, and commercial strategies
Analyze and influence OEM decision-making processes related to product specification, platform design, and supplier selection, identifying key technical and commercial decision-makers
Identify, map, and actively engage key stakeholders within Machine Builder OEM organizations, including executive leadership, engineering teams, product managers, sourcing, and aftermarket/service functions
Monitor and assess technology trends, regulatory changes, and system-level shifts impacting OEM design requirements, and translate these insights into opportunities for Gates products
Identify relevant industry standards, certifications, testing requirements, and validation needs required for OEM approval and platform adoption
Identify, quantify, and prioritize new business opportunities related to new product introductions, platform conversions, and emerging technologies
Drive OEM-focused marketing and awareness initiatives in collaboration with marketing teams to strengthen Gates’ position as a preferred technology partner
Partner closely with technical sales, application engineering, product management, and account teams to build a robust pipeline of OEM projects and define winning strategies for platform and program awards
Develop and maintain a prioritized list of strategic and enterprise OEM targets, focusing resources on high-impact growth opportunities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Business
Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience with at least 3 years' business development or account sales experience
Experience selling to/in Industrial market segments
Must possess a strong business acumen and be an experienced, self-directed leader capable of planning, organizing, developing & directing key account plans/projects in a professional and logical manner
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred

Background with machine builder infrastructure preferred
Travel for this role is allotted at 30-50%
