Responsibilities
Roadway and highway reconstruction
Fiber optic and wireless communications systems, including network architecture, conduit layouts, and power distribution for ITS devices
Traffic signal system design, including electrical wiring, conduit layouts, power distribution, and interconnection of traffic controllers, signal heads, and detection systems
ITS infrastructure design, including layout and electrical design for dynamic message signs (DMS), closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, vehicle detection systems, and roadside communication devices
Highway, roadway, and intersection lighting design, including photometric analysis, circuiting, and electrical load calculations
Preparation of design plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation
Preparation of Electrical load calculations, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules for traffic signal, ITS, and lighting systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Preferred
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for design work
Strong communication, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
EIT certification (or progress toward obtaining it) preferred
Relevant experience in ITS, traffic signal, or lighting design
