Responsibilities
Supervises and coordinates the activities of Security Officers during assigned shifts
Conducts regular patrols of interior and exterior areas including guest floors, public spaces, parking areas, back-of-house, and perimeter
Ensures officers are properly posted and fulfilling assigned duties
Responds to emergencies including medical incidents, disturbances, fire alarms, accidents, and security threats
Acts as lead responder and directs staff during emergency situations
Prepares and reviews incident, accident, and daily activity reports for accuracy and completeness
Investigates incidents involving guests, visitors, or associates and documents findings
Assists in enforcing hotel policies and procedures, including access control and key security
Monitors surveillance systems, fire life safety systems, and alarm panels
Coordinates with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services when required
Provides escorts for guests or associates as needed
Ensures proper handling of lost and found items according to hotel procedures
Conducts shift briefings and communicates important information to the team
Trains, coaches, and mentors security staff on procedures, service standards, and emergency response
Assists with scheduling and ensures adequate staffing levels
Addresses performance issues and reports concerns to management
Promotes a strong guest service culture while maintaining safety and security standards
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and incidents
Interacts with guests in a friendly, professional, and calm manner
Responds promptly to guest concerns related to safety or security
Provides directions and assistance while maintaining a visible security presence
Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction after incidents or requests
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in law enforcement, military, or security preferred
Minimum 2–3 years of security experience; supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of fire life safety systems, emergency procedures, and report writing
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-stress situations
Basic computer skills for report documentation and system monitoring
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to respond quickly to emergencies
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Preferred
Additional training in law enforcement, military, or security
Supervisory experience
CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred or ability to obtain
Customer service: 1 year
