Responsibilities
Accurately posting and balancing payments, adjustments, and insurance remittances related to laboratory insurance claims
Communicating with patients and clinician offices regarding outstanding balances
Generating patient statements
Producing client invoices
Demonstrating strong receipt posting and collections skills to meet or exceed established productivity goals
Accurate and timely posting of receipts and other financial transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures
Assisting department leadership with month-end reconciliation activities
Retrieving remittance advice from all available sources such as clearinghouses, payer portals, paper, and fax
Reviewing EOBs, electronic remittance advice, and denial letters to assign appropriate ANSI codes and take required action within the billing system
Qualification
Required
Experience collaborating with patients, providers, and insurance plans throughout the revenue cycle
Typing speed of 35 or more words per minute, with 90% or greater accuracy
One year's minimum experience in a Reimbursement Specialist role with one company
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
