Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring product team adherence to development targets, calendar, and process compliance, preempting potential risks by ensuring mitigation actions are in place, and ongoing improvement of development metrics and company margin
Lead the product development, technical fit, and design teams each season to meet departments milestones and deliverables while acting as the liaison between Merchandising, Design and Production teams
Work closely with teams across brand and supply chain to successfully begin and end the development process, specifically with design, technical teams, and production
Compile and maintain all technical package components and specifications needed to produce products, including the drafting and maintenance of technical specifications and bills of materials
Manage and maintain Style Master, seasonally. Style code, fabric information, size scales, FOB/LDP costing, supplier info, MOQ, lead times etc. Responsible for the data accuracy of Style Master prior to Data Merge. Partner with designers on styles descriptions and merchandising on catalog sequencing
Negotiate profitable product costs and contract terms (inclusive of lead times) with suppliers to achieve company margin goals while providing alternative solutions when goals are not met
Actively manage supply chain relationships including style allocation, costing, and timelines
Attend and oversee fittings with the necessary teams
Partner with production team to ensure that styles are executed properly in bulk production
Facilitate weekly development operations meetings to track progress metrics across the development cycle
Research new manufacturing techniques, sustainability alternatives and advanced materials to support continuous product innovation
Qualification
Required
Knowledgeable in the construction of fabrics, trim and garments
Strong understanding of international trade, customs regulations, and apparel performance testing standards
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Well-developed business, communication and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively as part of the team
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt to various situations
