Human Resources Manager

Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee core HR functions and ensure a positive workplace. The role includes managing employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management while supporting organizational culture and engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all HR operations, including employee relations, hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, and compliance
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance concerns, conflict resolution, investigations, and policy interpretation
Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and Girl Scouts policies
Partner with leadership to support organizational culture, engagement, and retention strategies
Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave, etc.), including vendor management, open enrollment, and employee education
Maintain and optimize HRIS systems, ensuring accurate employee data, reporting, and process improvements
Collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment between payroll, benefits, separation notices and related documentation
Administer the annual performance management cycle, including goal-setting, reviews, and related communications
Partner with leadership to support organizational culture, engagement, and retention strategies
Deploy toolkits and resources shared by GSUSA
Hire, coach, and develop staff to build core competencies necessary for team members to be successful in their roles
Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for team-wide and individual performance goals, using regular check-ins and performance tracking
Oversee team workflows and ensure consistent task completion by team members

Required

Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or 3.5 years of Human Resources experience
Experience administering HRIS and payroll systems
Demonstrated experience managing performance management processes
Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Willingness to travel to off-site events
Ability to lift 25 lbs
Clean driving record

Preferred

Prior experience in a nonprofit, mission-driven, or multi-site organization strongly preferred
