Assistant Procurement Manager
City of Sunrise is seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Procurement Manager to support their procurement team. The role involves overseeing competitive bidding, contract administration, vendor relations, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations while partnering with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing procurement operations including solicitations, contract negotiations, and vendor performance monitoring
Coordinate and review competitive bid processes — ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance
Support contract development, evaluation, and execution for goods, services, and capital projects
Partner with departments to understand purchasing needs and deliver effective procurement solutions
Provide leadership, training, and guidance on procurement practices and policies
Manage vendor outreach and relationship building to strengthen service delivery and supplier diversity
Qualification
Required
Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor Degree in Public or Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field
Has strong experience in public sector procurement, contract administration, or purchasing
Demonstrates excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Understands procurement regulations, competitive bidding, and best practices
Enjoys building collaborative relationships with both internal customers and external partners
Is organized, strategic, and committed to continuous improvement
