Responsibilities
Conduct independent security assessments, audits, and penetration tests for JSOC IT clients
Evaluate organizational security posture against industry frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS, etc.)
Produce detailed, evidence-based assessment reports with actionable findings and remediation guidance
Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across web applications, networks, and cloud environments
Review security policies, procedures, and technical controls for compliance gaps
Present findings to client leadership with clear, prioritized recommendations
Collaborate with the JSOC IT team on engagement scoping, methodology, and quality assurance
Qualification
Required
Minimum 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, or security consulting
At least one recognized industry certification (CISSP, CISA, OSCP, CEH, CISM, CRISC, GIAC, CCSP, ISO 27001 LA, SANS GIAC, or equivalent)
Demonstrated expertise in one or more security frameworks: NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks, HIPAA, PCI DSS
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings for executive audiences
Professional references and a verifiable track record of security assessment work
Preferred
Multiple industry certifications across complementary domains
Experience across regulated industries: Financial Services, Healthcare, Technology, Government, Energy, Education
Penetration testing experience with hands-on offensive security skills
Prior experience as an independent consultant or contractor in cybersecurity
Familiarity with cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP)
