Construction Engineer III
COMPA Industries, Inc. is seeking a Construction Engineer III to perform routine to moderately complex construction engineering assignments at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The role involves applying engineering judgment, supporting project activities, and providing mentorship to junior engineers.
Responsibilities
Perform construction engineering assignments in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve routine construction challenges
Support planning, execution, and oversight of construction project activities
Serve as a technical resource or lead for a specific construction discipline or project segment
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior or less experienced construction engineers, as needed
Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure scope, quality, schedule, and safety requirements are met
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific discipline
A minimum of 8 years of relevant construction engineering experience, including certifications and/or specialized engineering coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough understanding of construction engineering principles, practices, and methodologies
Ability to work independently while exercising professional judgment within established frameworks
Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred
Postgraduate coursework in an engineering discipline
Experience serving in a lead or supervisory role on construction projects
Specialized expertise in a particular construction engineering field
