Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
Monitor expenditures and commitments to ensure alignment with approved budgets
Prepare and present cost reports, cash flow projections, and variance analyses
Support change management by evaluating cost impacts, trends, and potential deviations
Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to integrate cost and schedule data
Review contractor invoices, progress measurements, and cost substantiation for accuracy
Identify cost risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies
Ensure adherence to project cost control standards, procedures, and best practices
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience as a Cost Engineer on large capital or industrial projects
Strong background in petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial environments
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field
In-depth knowledge of cost control systems, earned value management, and forecasting methodologies
Proficiency with project controls and cost management software/tools
Excellent analytical abilities with strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
