Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, SW Institute for Research on Women
The University of Arizona's Southwest Institute for Research on Women is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Coordinator to support their 7 Generations Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. Responsibilities
Coordinate Leadership Components of the CoE
Play a key role in the development and design of behavioral health trainings, workshops, and other activities that the CoE’s leadership receives
Develop content and resources to support the goals and initiatives of the leadership fellows throughout their engagement in the CoE
Plan the CoE’s annual Leadership Academy; designing and administering content
Coordinate a national recruitment strategy to identify leadership fellows
Facilitate connections between fellows and among various communities
Support the CoE’s National Steering Council (NSC)
In partnership with the 7 Generations team, design, develop, and create behavioral health content and resources that reflect NSC member input, address identified community needs, and inform CoE activities and approaches
Assist in planning and coordinating quarterly NSC meetings, including region- and community-specific cultural activities and experiences that align with behavioral health priorities
Develop relationships that support the engagement of current NSC members and the recruitment of future members, while serving as a resource for behavioral health information and support
Serve as a primary point of contact for the CoE’s National Steering Council, which is comprised of behavioral health experts, professionals, and persons with lived experience
Enhance the CoE’s Visibility, Reach and Efficacy
Represent the CoE at national and regional events. This may include serving as an exhibitor, participating in networking activities, giving presentations, and other types of engagements
Make connections and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the CoE is reaching those in need and of benefit to the target population
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy
Ability to travel on an airplane
Knowledge and competency working with American Indian and Alaska Native communities
Skilled at building positive rapport, engaging in positive interactions with others, and developing close and ongoing relationships
Proactive communicator, strategist, and problem-solver
Creative, thoughtful, and intentional (specifically regarding the identification and/or development of activities and experiences for NSC members and leadership fellows)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to be highly responsive to communications
Ability to provide exceptional follow-through on tasks and initiatives
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-part collaborative team, taking into consideration perspectives from NSC, internal team members, and federal funders
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to participate in extensive national travel
Ability to meet agency standards for attendance and punctuality
Skilled at effective work habits and professional judgment and ethics
