Traveling / On-Site Project Manager - Structural Steel

They are seeking a Construction Financial Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of their growing construction organization, focusing on improving financial systems and processes.

Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and job cost accounting
Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Monitor project budgets, cost tracking, WIP schedules, and cash flow
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls
Support project managers with financial reporting and cost analysis
Manage audits, tax filings, and relationships with external accountants
Lead or assist in the implementation and optimization of accounting/ERP software
Develop and improve financial policies, procedures, and reporting systems
Provide financial insights and forecasting to support strategic decision-making
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in construction accounting or construction finance
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and project-based accounting
Prior 'Controller' title is not required - senior-level accountants are encouraged to apply
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and partner with operations leadership
Preferred
Experience with Sage 300
Highly preferred: experience implementing or transitioning to new accounting/ERP systems
