Responsibilities
News Interns will work alongside reporters, producers, directors, studio operators, and News managers to experience nearly all aspects of television news creation
You will receive hands-on experience with positions in the newsroom, including:
Assignment Desk – learn how news is gathered and assigned
Reporting – shadow reporters on interviews and during live shots
Photographer – shadow photographers as they film and edit news stories and coordinate live shots
Digital Media – learn about the strategic use of WMTW’s website and social media platforms
Producing – understand the process of creating a news broadcast from scratch and learn the basics of television news writing
Directing – observe the technical execution of newscasts including directing live shows and audio operation
Studio Camera Operator – learn camera shots, angles and lighting
Interns will also learn about departments outside of the newsroom, including Sales, Creative Services, and Engineering
