Responsibilities
Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in DAVIS core values
Perform reviews of routine contracts, recommend modification where necessary
Assist General Counsel to identify and resolve legal issues and to provide ongoing counsel, advise and support
Monitor, research and analyze developments in laws
Assist with creation and implementation of educational materials on legal issues for various departments
Review owner and subcontractor contracts and related documents and modify as necessary in accordance with corporate standards and project requirements
Coordinate with outside counsel resources on a case-by-case basis
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
College Degree & J.D. from a law school of recognized standing
Member of a State Bar
At least three (3) years of legal experience either at a reputable law firm or in-house
Experience with drafting and negotiating legal documents
Decision making, research and analytical problem solving skills
Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization
MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience
Legal experience in construction
