Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints and define machining processes, tooling, and CNC programs
Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM and manual methods; macro programming as needed
Set up machines for production and support ongoing troubleshooting and optimization
Verify and maintain accurate setup and cycle times in the shop scheduling system
Complete First Article Inspections and support quality handoff to Production Quality
Implement engineering changes, process improvements, and documentation updates
Support manufacturing operations including milling, turning, drilling, finishing, and equipment layout
Lead, train, and mentor Class 1 & 2 Machinists and Machinist Assistants
Assign work, manage cell resources, and maintain production goals
Enforce SOPs, changeover procedures, and safety standards
Act as a coach and problem-solver, fostering accountability and team development
Assist with performance evaluations and employee skill development
Ensure SPC awareness, proper inspection methods, and part traceability
Identify material types, inspect parts to print, and manage non-conforming product
Maintain organized, clean, and safe workstations throughout the cell
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Strong CNC machining and programming background
Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection techniques
Experience with CAD/CAM software and shop-floor troubleshooting
Ability to lead independently in a fast-paced production environment
Willingness to work extended hours as needed to support production
