Responsibilities
10+ years of hands‑on experience as a DB2 Developer (LUW or z/OS, depending on your environment)
Proven expertise in data migration, including large datasets, complex transformations, and cross‑platform movement
Strong Unix/Linux scripting skills (Shell, Korn, Bash)
Deep knowledge of SQL optimization, indexing strategies, explain plans, and DB2 performance tuning tools
Experience troubleshooting database issues related to locking, deadlocks, memory, I/O, and query performance
Familiarity with ETL tools, batch processing, and job scheduling frameworks
Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and data modeling
Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving abilities
Experience with DB2 migration to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or modernization initiatives
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automation
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience working in Agile environments
A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues before they impact delivery
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams
A passion for optimizing systems and improving data reliability at scale
