Lead Business Intelligence Developer - Full time - Detroit
Henry Ford Health is seeking a Lead Business Intelligence Developer to develop and implement comprehensive data extraction and reporting programs. The role involves conducting complex statistical analysis, mentoring other developers, and providing actionable insights to organizational leaders while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
Influence with data insights that are clear and discerning to help leaders make actionable decisions, use compelling and supportive research and knowledge
Document process flows and ensures they are monitored for accuracy and quality
Work collaboratively with leaders and other teams to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact, consults, designs metrics, reports, and builds solutions as needed
Research, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing assets and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging them
Act as a leader to other team members and provides constructive feedback as necessary
Independently takes decisions with little or no coaching
Routinely participates in webinars and other educational resources to enhance understanding of current developments in healthcare environment
Creates recommendations for improving work efficiency, quality, accuracy, and presentation of information
Applies statistical concepts and relays findings, resulting in actionable information as needed
Serves as a liaison between Analytics and business leaders, guides customers to central intake process, triage and fulfill report requests as assigned by the leader
Standardize use of analytics tools and semantic layers throughout the organization
Anticipates and works strategically to guide team-members based on advanced knowledge of healthcare trends and requirements
Demonstrates competency with highly complex projects, manage large scale projects, monitor timelines for deliverables, with minimal coaching
Effectively manages multiple projects with tight timelines simultaneously, maintains composure during high pressure deadlines
Act as a resource for others, guides, mentors, provides end-user training on existing or new solutions, create backup resources on the team
Creates project work plan with resources identified, backups, including facilitating the following: assignment of tasks, setting deadlines, appropriately sequencing, and defining the critical path of development
Understands best practice and regulatory standards and applies them to projects
Independently understands driving factors for data needs and provide data in addition to specific request
Creates complex scripts utilizing optimized query techniques on complex data tables
Comfortable and effective in interacting independently with C-Suite and Physician leaders
Does not hesitate in taking the lead in any situation, even in the presence of significant ambiguity
Effectively facilitates conflict resolution in politically sensitive situations
Anticipates and quickly adapts to meet needs of project and customer

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree with a Healthcare, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business OR Applied Science major
Six to seven (6-7) years of experience in a healthcare OR business setting
Expert in the use of SQL, advance Excel, report building, tool development, requirement gathering and technical documentation
Experience in developing Relational Databases, Data Models, Data Visualizations, curated datasets, data cubes OR experience in Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) report development, functionality of any EMR (Epic, Cerner, McKesson or other widely used EMRs)
Maintain code repositories on SCM system, merging, pushing, pulling, branching, staging and code commenting OR MS TFS
Expert in the use of Enterprise Databases OR Electronic Medical Record system
Developer level experience in at-least one programming language OR Electronic Medical Record system
Good understanding of dimensional models, de-normalized, normalized, unstructured, Hierarchical, Object-Oriented databases and Warehouse, be able to work on the development of data models
Basic understanding of Statistical and Machine Learning concepts
Expertise in data analysis, visualizations, and requirements gathering & documentation
Experience in any Business Intelligence tool like Tableau, Cognos, Looker, Toad, Minitab, Power BI, Qlik, SSRS OR any other
Working knowledge of Statistical analysis, sampling, confidence interval, distributions, control charts etc
Develop multidimensional semantic layer and analytics query objects for end-users
Proven customer service experience with strong active listening skills
Effectively and influentially presents complex information to diverse audiences
Expert written and verbal communication skills
Make decisions with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice in mind
Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy
Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services
