Responsibilities
Develop magnetics designs (custom transformers, inductors, and coils) primarily for use in switch-mode power supplies
Engineering collaboration with leaders in the medical, aerospace, military, industrial and automotive industries to design and develop custom magnetic components
Providing technical leadership in the areas of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and safety agency requirements to ensure that quality, high reliability magnetics components are built and shipped to our customers
Participation in design reviews including leading the DFMEA process
Coordination of prototype builds and design verification including planning, developing, and implementing experimental test plans and evaluating engineering test results
Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related technical degree
Work or school experience in the area of transformer and inductor design and/or switch-mode power supply design preferred
Experience using electrical test equipment (impedance analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.)
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills essential
The ability to travel is required (up to 10% - 15%)
Preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software preferred
Experience with finite element analysis software (Ansys or others) a plus
Experience with PCB design software (Altium or others) a plus
