The University of Michigan is seeking creative and energetic undergraduate students to assist in planning a student dialogue conference on campus. The role involves training to facilitate discussions, collaborating with faculty, and promoting the event while building communication skills and understanding social issues.

Responsibilities
Complete required training and practice in facilitating public dialogue
Help determine issues most important to UM Dearborn students
Work with CASL faculty to plan and carry out logistics of the Student Dialogue Conference on March 19, 2026, including:
Planning and promoting the event
Collaborating with other campus members to develop issue topics and discussion questions for the conference
Managing participant outreach and contacts
Attending and facilitating issue discussions; and
Conducting post-event evaluation
Work individually and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment. Hours and schedule dependent on course schedule and tasks required
Qualification
Required
Is currently enrolled as a University of Michigan-Dearborn Undergraduate Student
Has excellent oral and written communication skills
Is a creative and flexible thinker
Interacts effectively with others
Responds constructively to feedback
Exhibits strong listening skills and enjoys a diversity of thought exchange
Displays an appreciation of the varied experiences and perspectives of others
Preferred
Coursework and communication, writing, and/or Social or Behavioral Sciences, particularly in Public Argument and Advocacy or Community Organizing
Ability to commit to roughly 20-25 hours (2-4 hours per week) during Winter 25 term
