KIP Summer 2026 - Policy Intern - Illinois Policy Institute
Stand Together is offering the Koch Internship Program, a paid 12-week experiential learning opportunity at non-profits across the U.S. The Policy Intern will conduct research, analyze policies, and contribute to articles that support the Illinois Policy Institute's mission to empower Illinoisans through effective governance and economic policy.

Responsibilities
Conduct research for articles and reports on poverty and social mobility, economics, jobs, housing, taxes, budgets, pensions, and more
Source and analyze data related to policy issues
Write articles about a wide range of policies affecting Illinoisans
File Freedom of Information Act requests to uncover government data not available to the general public
Fact-check research by Institute policy experts
Qualification
Required
Have or be working toward a bachelor's or graduate degree with a focus on political science/government, law, economics, econometrics, public policy, or statistics
Have excellent data analysis and writing skills
Proficiency in Excel
Attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team
Positive attitude
Must be available every Thursday from 1-4:00 PM ET for virtual professional development training
Must attend the in-person summit at Stand Together's Headquarters in Arlington, VA June 3-4
Preferred
Exposure to data analysis software R/SAS/STATA is a plus
