Responsibilities
Collect borrower and guarantor financial documentation (business and personal) and maintain an organized, audit-ready file
Create and update borrower/guarantor profiles in Abrigo; input key data fields and attach documentation accurately
Review documents for completeness, consistency, and red flags (missing pages, mismatched entities, outdated statements, unsupported numbers, illegible scans)
Use SBA and conventional commercial lending checklists to ensure the correct items are obtained for the specific request (SBA 7(a)/504 where applicable; conventional term loans, lines of credit, owner-occupied CRE, working capital, equipment, etc.)
Anticipate and identify what SBA BDOs and conventional loan BDOs need to move a deal forward; communicate clear, prioritized “next items” to the BDO and borrower
Prepare loan packages for underwriting with standardized file naming, indexing, and version control (per internal standards)
Track outstanding items and follow up with borrowers/third parties (CPA, insurance agent, landlord, escrow, etc.) to obtain documents promptly
Coordinate with underwriting/credit on clarification questions and ensure responses are documented and filed cleanly
Coordinate with closing/operations to ensure packaging aligns with downstream requirements (title, insurance, entity documents, agreements, etc.)
Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive borrower information; follow document retention and sharing protocols
Support required forms and internal worksheets as applicable for SBA and conventional requests, ensuring consistency with borrower-provided documentation
Supports both SBA and Commercial BDO’s, ensuring consistent file quality and packaging standards across both groups
Serves as a shared resource across SBA and conventional pipelines, coordinating priorities and managing throughput across multiple originators
Qualification
Required
1–3+ years in SBA packaging/processing, commercial loan processing, underwriting support, or loan documentation/admin
Familiarity with SBA and conventional commercial loan file requirements
Experience working in Abrigo (or ability to learn quickly)
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up discipline
Clear written communication and ability to manage multiple live files and deadlines
Preferred
SBA 7(a) experience from intake through closing
Ability to review financial statements and tax returns at a basic level to identify inconsistencies/missing items
Experience with document management systems, checklists, and file QC standards
