Sales Manager Government & Military
Garmin is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a full-time Sales Manager for the Government and Military markets. The role involves promoting Garmin's products, identifying opportunities, establishing sales plans, and building relationships with key accounts in the industry.

Responsibilities
Identify and capture opportunities within the Government and Military markets, including state and local organizations
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the government and defense industry and consistently report industry updates to leadership
Establish and execute sales plans and promotions
Be immersed in the market to understand, identify, and foresee customer needs/requirements
Build strong relationships with key accounts and decision makers in the industry
Develop strategic plans to capture new business and increase overall market share
Create and give sales presentations to existing and new customers
Attend and coordinate trade shows – offer constructive feedback and insights gathered at shows to sales leadership
Coordinate training activities with little to no supervision, exercising independent judgement as to how best to meet the individual training needs of the specific customer
Communicate market landscape/requirements and future product improvements effectively to internal stakeholders through meetings and written reports
Manage the fulfillment of obligations relating to strategic agreements and facilitate sharing of information to others responsible for fulfilling those obligations
Work effectively with a broad range of internal functional areas including engineering, marketing, finance, operations, and product support in support of sales efforts
Coordinate business development meetings, compile meeting notes and actions, and follow up with assigned resources to ensure the completion of those actions
Monitor the government bid solicitation and award process
Support the development and management of contracts
Act as a mentor and lead to newer, less experienced associates
Travel with little or no supervision
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the military and defense industry OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Must possess a “service” attitude in both external and internal interactions and possess a strong passion for customer satisfaction
Must possess business-to-business analytical, financial, strategic thinking and marketing skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Strong passion for Garmin's mission, products, and values
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet Garmin's market launch requirements, while maintaining high quality standards
Demonstrate ease with public speaking
Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must demonstrate self-motivation
Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
Early technology adopter with understanding of the CE marketplace
Preferred
Experience in working with military branch program offices
Experience in managing and executing military programs
