Responsibilities

Reports to the Director of Admissions
Collaborates with Directors of Graduate Studies in the school's academic departments and units, with the HLS Student Success team, and with campus partners to ensure a student-centered approach to recruitment, admissions, onboarding, academic support, engagement, and degree progress
Works to enhance visibility and impact of HLS graduate programs and fosters a high-quality experience from initial inquiry through graduation
Partners with the Director of Admissions to design and execute a comprehensive graduate recruitment plan that integrates marketing and yield strategies and includes participation in key recruitment events
Collaborates with the Director of Admissions and academic departments and units to establish strategic recruitment goals and targets
Conducts market research to evaluate current practices, identify new recruitment opportunities, and inform strategic planning
Coordinates with faculty to provide complete and accurate applicant materials, ensuring timely review and decision-making; analyze post-admission data to enhance future recruitment cycles
Oversees communication of admission decisions and related information to applicants and admitted students
Serves as the primary point of contact for graduate student services, providing guidance and support across programs
Partners with the Office of International Services (OIS) to ensure timely and accurate processing of international applications
Monitors graduate student academic progress across all programs to ensure requirements are met and course substitutions are approved
Ensures timely and accurate processing of degree requirements, including committee assignments, documentation, and approvals, to support students¿ successful progress to graduation
Provides administrative and logistical assistance for the Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program, including housing coordination, enrollment management, and general support
Coordinates new student orientation and onboarding in collaboration with departments and units
Advises students on fellowship and funding opportunities and guide them through application processes
Manages onboarding for Student Academic Assistants (SAAs), including appointment letters and contracts
Leads communications to graduate students via listservs, websites, and newsletters, ensuring content is accurate and up to date
Plans and executes graduate student events, including academic lectures, conferences, and social programs that foster community, well-being, and professional development
Supports the coordination of graduate academic policies, such as probation and dismissal, in partnership with Directors of Graduate Studies to ensure consistency across programs
Maintains clear and consistent communication with program directors, faculty, and campus partners to support coordination and information sharing across all graduate programs
Develops and implements programs and initiatives that touch on various/multiple student-related goals, such as enhancing and reinforcing academic engagement and experiential learning; increasing student engagement, wellness, and involvement; fostering learning, inclusion, and development; supporting students in crisis and adversity; and improving the student campus experience
Interfaces directly with students by attending student programming events, advising student organization leaders, meeting 1-on-1 to discuss areas of concern on campus, and gathering satisfaction feedback from student participants to implement into future student services initiatives and objectives
Collaborates with staff in own department and other departments, as well as academic and campus leaders, on shared student services goals, often coordinating funding to sponsor student programs and initiatives
Projects outcomes for services offered at the program, department/division, or campus level. Measures and evaluates effectiveness of student services against projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports on impact to students and budget and may present to stakeholders on effectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward
Serves on committees and performs student services research across the field of higher education and at peer institutions to identify and recommend best practices
Plans and coordinates communications for student services initiatives to ensure student participation and engagement
May provide guidance to other student services staff; makes process recommendations to manager for improved delivery of service

Required

Bachelor's degree in higher education student affairs, public affairs, counseling, social work, education, business, or related field
2 years in student services, higher education, or related field
