Staff Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct efforts requiring authoritative judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard and nonstandard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
Independently devise new approaches for the problems encountered and plans and coordinates the work of others on major engineering projects
Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel
Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses
Lead a design proposal team in preparing a design, estimating costs, and assisting in writing the technical volume
Provide effective, compassionate project leadership to a team of creative, independent individuals, soliciting and being sensitive to design feedback
Select, initiate and perform specialized research; create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program
Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports

Required

Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
At least 10 years of related experience
Proven expertise in mechanical engineering sub-disciplines including: Statics and Dynamics, Hydraulics and Electro-Mechanical, Stress, Fatigue, and Performance Analysis, Rotating Machinery, FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), Model Based Design
