Sr. Accountant
AAON, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage financial reporting related to property, plant, and equipment. The role involves collaboration with the accounting department and other groups to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls.

Responsibilities
Works collaboratively with all members of the accounting department to meet monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting objectives
Works with other groups to understand capital projects and budgets
Creates journal entries for monthly/quarterly close
Reconciles general ledger accounts directly related to capital assets
Reviews monthly/quarterly general ledger transactions and makes corrections as needed for coding
Maintains accurate and complete files and records to document transactions
Maintains a high level of internal control over financial reporting processes
Assists with audit PBC’s and requests
Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, back-up to Cash Application clerk as well as a back-up to the other Property Accountant(s)
Qualification
Required
BA or BS degree
Works collaboratively with all members of the accounting department to meet monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting objectives
Works with other groups to understand capital projects and budgets
Creates journal entries for monthly/quarterly close
Reconciles general ledger accounts directly related to capital assets
Reviews monthly/quarterly general ledger transactions and makes corrections as needed for coding
Maintains accurate and complete files and records to document transactions
Maintains a high level of internal control over financial reporting processes
Assists with audit PBC's and requests
Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
Analyze financial reports in connection with the tax return preparation
Complete entries on forms, following tax form instructions and tax tables
Compute taxes owed, using calculator or personal computer
Consult tax law handbook or bulletins to determine procedure for preparation of returns
Coordinate audits with state and federal taxing authorities
Determine forms needed to prepare return
Review tax lives and depreciation methods for fixed assets
Advise Tax Manager on income tax issues
Monitor internal controls, separation of duties, departmental audits
Stay current on any knowledge needed about using the chosen income tax software
Provide accurate accounting and fiscal data to requesting management and/or programs
Detail-orientated and organized
Must be able to demonstrate ability to work in a team environment
Assist in ACA reporting
Assist with SOX certifications when needed
Advise staff on accounting related policies, procedures, and resolve problems
Communicate with customers vendors, staff, and other Control Agencies
Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks for the monthly accounting cycle
