Engineering Intern, Materials - Summer 2026
Stanley Black & Decker is a leading global company known for its innovative tools and technology. They are seeking an Engineering Intern for their Materials Team to support various technical activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams in the development of power tools.

Responsibilities
Prepare materials samples for hardness testing, mechanical testing, microstructural evaluation, and chemical analysis according to accepted standards
Materials Development: Design and execute experiments as needed for component-level testing of materials performance
Assist materials engineers in analyzing materials and providing technical guidance to improve materials processing and performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design and engineering, to contribute to the development and improvement of power tools
Qualification
Required
Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2026 or 2027
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Metal, or Non-metal Material Engineering
Demonstrates strong academic performance
Knowledge of materials properties, processing, and performance
Basic familiarity with general laboratory equipment such as optical microscopes and polishers
Able to problem solve and communicate effectively
Able to effectively balance academic responsibilities with extracurricular activities
