Staff Accountant

Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations to account for financial activity of designated accounts on a monthly basis. Ensure accounting is complete, accurate, GAAP-compliant and well documented
Analyze all designated account activity in order to provide analysis and explanation to management during close meetings. Ensure all internal deadlines surrounding the close process are met
Run full cycle of Accounts Payable, process vendors invoice including review of invoice and resolving discrepancies
Help Facilitate payment of vendors in conjunction with finance team
Maintain vendor files and contact information by setting up new vendors, reconciling vendor accounts, and managing W-9’s for 1099 processing
Prepare customer invoices
Assist in the preparation of required financial reporting for clients
Reviews, reconciles, and completes steps to pay reimbursements to monitors consistent with internal policies and requirements
Prepare and review audit schedules and supporting documents related to the areas supervised for external and internal auditors
Foster working relationships cross-functionally
Stay current with knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Assist on special projects as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Associate Degree in Accounting
A minimum of 1+ years of accounting experience
Achieves desired level of competency and accuracy for the main department processes and responsibilities of assigned position
Meets or exceeds productivity expectations
Must be able to use independent judgement
Reports quality results with limited errors
Works productively and efficiently to achieve Company and departmental goals
Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization both internal and external
Adheres to Lexitas core values, and Company policies and procedures
Understanding of U.S. GAAP
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
Proven oral, written, and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office programs
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to travel as required by role. Limited overnight travel may be required
Ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about conference or meeting locations as required
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time
Manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds
Arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time
Visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time
Ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time
Preferred
Prior bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and accounts payable experience preferred
Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred
