Responsibilities

QA professionals responsible for validating system functionality, integrations, data flows, and performance across client components
Experience testing iterative Agile deliveries (e.g., sprint-based testing, regression testing, defect tracking)
Ability to collaborate closely with developers and product owners to validate acceptance criteria and readiness for release
Accessibility specialists with demonstrated experience testing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) against Section 508–aligned standards, including WCAG 2.2 success criteria
Conduct both automated and manual accessibility testing (e.g., keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, color contrast, document accessibility)
Support required quality assurance reviews prior to release and identify remediation actions in alignment with client digital accessibility policies
UX researchers or usability testing specialists who can plan and conduct usability testing with representative users
Validate that solutions are intuitive, discoverable, and meet user needs through iterative testing and feedback cycles
Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to refine solutions based on findings, consistent with the client’s user-centered design approach
Testing resources should provide clear documentation of test plans, test cases, findings, and remediation recommendations
Results must be communicated regularly to the project team to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making
The Test Engineer II is responsible for working with developers, product managers, and the government to ensure the functionality, reliability, accessibility, and security of all development solutions and supporting infrastructure
Developing thorough test plans for systems to ensure a smooth transition from the development environment to the production environment, including test case creation and execution to validate end-to-end system functionality
Developing and performing functional testing that includes manual and automated testing as well as non-functional testing that includes system integration testing, load and performance testing, independent validation and verification services, and accessibility testing
Creating automated scripts and reports to evaluate and calculate the amount of code coverage for each release
Policy and guidance support for Section 508/WCAG compliance
Create accessibility-focused test cases/plans
Subject Matter Expert on accessibility tools/techniques, etc
Providing accessibility testing to maintain and exceed accessibility compliance requirements: Section 508, WCAG 2.2 level A and level AA
Ensuring that the user experience is intuitive, accessible, and aligns with the needs of both end-users and stakeholders
Reporting on testing for each deliverable, detailing: Who performed the test(s), Qualifications of the tester (e.g., Trusted Tester certification), When the testing was performed, What equipment (software and hardware) were used for the testing, What, specifically, they were testing (e.g. user stories represented in Azure DevOps or JIRA tickets), What accessibility issues were found
The Test Engineer II should have experience in consistently meeting deadlines in an interactive environment that includes daily communication with developers

Required

Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a favorable fitness determination for a Federal Public Trust Clearance
1 to 4 years' (minimum) experience with test management tools to create, execute, and track test cases, defects, and regression testing (e.g., Jira with Xray/Zephyr, Azure DevOps)
1 to 4 years' (minimum) experience with automated accessibility scanning tools to identify WCAG and Section 508 compliance issues (e.g., ANDI, Axe, WAVE, pa11y, Lighthouse)
1 to 4 years' (minimum) experience with manual accessibility testing tools, including screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack), keyboard-only navigation testing, and color contrast analyzers
1 to 4 years' (minimum) experience with Test Plan, Test Case, Test Script development and execution
1 to 4 years' (minimum) experience with SDLC framework and Agile methodology
1 to 4 years' (minimum) experience evaluating designs, code, and products for accessibility throughout an Agile software development lifecycle
Proficient with automated accessibility testing tools such as ANDI, Axe, Wave, pa11y and Lighthouse
Effectively communicate findings and remediation recommendations
Provide accessibility testing and implementation support
Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met
Write, execute, and report status for system test cases
Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports
Work with small teams in dynamic environments
Strong analytical and technical skills to identify and troubleshoot issues
Identify and facilitate issue resolution with functional and technical teams
Document and communicate test results
Participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle
Demonstrated knowledge of test methodologies (regression, functional, integration, performance, accessibility, etc.)

Preferred

BA/BS degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred
Accessibility testing certification (508 Trusted Tester, W3C, IAAP, WAS)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer interface experience and skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Experience with Microsoft Office platform
