Responsibilities
Total Loss Specialist – Negotiates and settles total losses including auto, boats, RVs and Commercial heavy equipment
Processes claims according to applicable state mandates
Demonstrates responsibility for investigating coverage issues and/or liability claims, as needed
Confirms coverage and the facts of loss through their investigation. This helps determine not only liability but the extent of loss (or injury, damage, etc.), if applicable
Determines the appropriate method of inspection or review of facts
Makes liability determination for based on investigation and the applicable liability law. Includes sending out required forms & obtaining releases as needed, negotiating settlements with customers or their legal representatives
Ensures compliance with state regulations and requirements
Focuses primarily on proper investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of all claims moderate to serious complexity
Qualification
Required
4 years' claims experience
Maintain Continuing Education (CE) requirements for state licensing when appropriate
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent years' work experience
