Staff Accountant
HousingPlus is a nonprofit organization focused on assisting women in building community and transforming their lives. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to provide accounting support to the Accounts Payable and general fiscal areas, ensuring accurate financial operations within the organization.

Responsibilities
Review and process accounts payable (A/P) invoices and generate checks & electronic payments to vendors/suppliers
Communicate with vendors as needed
File all accounts payable supporting documents & retrieve for audits and other review
Record and post cash receipts for rent collection
Deposit & record cash and checks and maintain proper supporting documentation
Work closely with Development department on cash receipts reconciliation
Reconcile and replenish petty cash, and process employee reimbursements
Initiate and record credit and debit card payments
Maintain cost allocations for A/P vendor expenses
Process year-end 1099 Forms and distribute to vendors and government entities
Maintain lease and rent schedules and maintain all accounts payable contracts
Maintain analysis of certain balance sheet accounts
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Follow up on action items and collaborate to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks and projects
Qualification
Required
Experience in a non-profit or mission-driven organization
A bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college
Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse organization staff, in a positive, inclusive work environment
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines without compromising quality
Proficiency in MS Excel
Requires excellent communication skills
Preferred
Experience with government funders a plus
