Fund Controller - Portfolio Administration
MUFG Capital Analytics is a leading solutions provider for the global alternative investment management industry. The Fund Controller will ensure financial data accuracy, manage client relationships, and oversee compliance with accounting standards while leading a team to meet client requirements.
Responsibilities
Review capital calls, distributions, and valuation activity for client investments
Validate accuracy of large volumes of capital account statements
Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and report any breaches to key stakeholders
Collaborate and provide feedback to the Operations Team (CSO). Deliver training as needed to maintain SLA compliance
Lead weekly calls with the CSO team, to track status of operations and answer questions
Lead and participate in client calls; escalate issues arising from client communications
Manage day-to-day client relationships, triage inquiries, and provide guidance on private equity accounting and reporting
Liaison with the custodian bank to ensure market value and operational data is accurately recorded
Facilitate discussions between clients and internal teams, ensuring proper documentation
Analyze capital structures to determine accounting and data requirements between investments and funds
Review client reports and financial statements for accuracy and completeness while meeting all deadlines
Conduct technical research and apply U.S. GAAP to complex accounting issues related to investment companies
Plan, direct, and supervise team efforts to meet client requirements and deliver quality services efficiently
Automate and document processes where applicable
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support client development
Supervise employees to ensure quality and productivity
Collaborate with technology and support teams, maintaining knowledge of system capabilities and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
5–7 years of professional experience
Expertise in investment accounting, partnership accounting, and investment company accounting
Proven ability to resolve complex accounting issues
Experience in financial statement preparation and review
Demonstrated leadership and employee development skills
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to manage and organize complex, time-sensitive projects
Proficiency in accounting systems and related technologies
Preferred
Graduate Degree preferred
Strong technical experience with Front Invest (eFront) preferred
