Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and improves manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize product quality
Supervises and mentors a team of manufacturing engineers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Collaborates with production and planning teams to establish production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining optimal resource utilization
Identifies cost reduction opportunities in the manufacturing process without compromising product quality or safety
Stays up to date with advancements in manufacturing technology and leads the implementation of new tools, machinery, and techniques to improve productivity and efficiency
Identifies potential manufacturing risks and develops strategies to mitigate them, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted production process
Ensures that manufacturing processes adhere to all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices
Works closely with design, R&D, and supply chain teams to provide manufacturing insights during the product development lifecycle
Drives a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative ideas from team members and implementing efficiency-enhancing projects
Identifies skill gaps within the manufacturing engineering team and provides training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities
Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and monitor the performance of manufacturing processes and the overall team

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or a related field
5 years industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent industry experience
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite products
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to mentor others
Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
Demonstrated experience in process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives
Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and manufacturing software tools
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to manufacturing
Proven project management abilities, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand/walk for up to 95% of the normal work shift
Work requires periodic visits to manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure
Travel may be required including overnight stays

Preferred

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
