Responsibilities
Develop and grow existing customer relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the Department of Defense market
Serve as a primary interface with U.S. Government customers, prime contractors, and industry partners
Lead and manage opportunities capture efforts, including strategy development, positioning, and execution
Advise executive management on growth strategies and resource planning for future program procurements
Collaborate with the Vice President of Operations, Program Managers, and technical leadership to develop proposals, work breakdown structures (WBS), program directives, and technical proposal volumes
Support proposal development activities, including capture planning, competitive analysis, and technical solution alignment
Assist with program execution matters as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and successful program outcomes
Perform analytical, research, and administrative activities in support of business development, strategic planning, proposal development, and marketing functions
Conduct competitive intelligence, including analysis of competitors’ pricing strategies, capabilities, and market positioning
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure NSS offerings remain competitive and aligned with best practices
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Conduct business independently and professionally throughout the defense market, including travel to customers and partner sites as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
8–10 years of relevant industry experience in business development, program management, or operational leadership
Proven experience working with U.S. military or defense-related organizations
Demonstrated business acumen and experience with DoD acquisition and government contracting
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
Ability to rapidly grasp advanced technologies and apply them to meet customer requirements
Technical background sufficient to vet business decisions and present viable solutions to customers
Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with defense electronics products and their operational applications
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, and climb stairs
Vision requirements include reading documents and viewing computer screens
Occasionally required to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds
Travel to customers or partner sites may be required
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required (no dual citizenship)
Preferred
15+ years of relevant industry experience post-bachelor's degree
Active Department of Defense Secret clearance preferred at time of hire
The selected candidate will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Experience supporting radar, communications, or similar defense programs is strongly desired
