Responsibilities
Develop and optimize elastomer manufacturing processes (molding, extrusion, mixing, curing)
Support production through hands-on troubleshooting of process, tooling, and equipment issues
Analyze manufacturing data and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma
Create and maintain process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs)
Define and validate process parameters to ensure stability, repeatability, and compliance
Support tooling design, trials, and qualification for elastomer components
Specify and maintain elastomer processing equipment (mixers, extruders, presses, curing ovens)
Lead or support capital equipment projects from justification through validation
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (including ITAR)
Qualification
Required
Manufacturing engineering experience in an elastomer-based environment
Experience supporting regulated manufacturing, ideally aerospace
Working knowledge of ITAR-controlled manufacturing
Strong application of Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis
Experience developing manufacturing and quality documentation
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication skills
Experience in aerospace manufacturing and AS9100 environments
Exposure to capital equipment projects and advanced elastomer technologies
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field
