Bond Inventory & Procurement Supervisor

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Bond Inventory and Procurement Supervisor to oversee furniture, fixtures, and equipment procurement for bond-funded projects. This role includes supervising contractors, managing budgets, and ensuring successful project completions across multiple school sites.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
Supervise and evaluate assigned projects/contractors in the district
Participate in the development and monitoring of the district's FF&E budget; make budget recommendations
Track and monitor the collection of quotes for FF&E commodities for bond funded projects
Monitor the procurement, delivery, and inventory of all bond funded FF&E
Support the FF&E Manager with delivery logistics and installations to ensure successful openings of schools
Support the FF&E Manager with procurement, delivery, and inventory of refresh/replacement furniture requests for administrative furniture, cafeteria tables, etc
Support the FF&E Manager with onsite move management activities for all school and administrative office relocations and set-ups
Track and monitor backordered and/or shortage orders for existing schools and administrative spaces
Resolve procurement or invoicing issues and shipment discrepancies that occur with bond funded FF&E
Collaborate with district departments and vendors including moving companies, construction teams, etc
Conduct regular onsite walkthroughs, monitoring visits, and coordination efforts
Participate in project/account close-outs with site administrator and Finance
Participate in professional development workshops and attend meetings as required
Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of three (3) years of related experience required
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of inventory and procurement
Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system procurement
Thorough knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards regarding procurement
Thorough knowledge of required records preparation and maintenance related to bond funded projects
Skilled in continuous improvement processes and team-oriented planning and execution
Skilled in organization and attention to detail
Skilled in Excel, process flow, and process improvement
Ability to monitor and implement a fiscally sound budget
Ability to supervise multiple large-scale and small-scale projects simultaneously using project management best practices
Ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others
Ability to produce data analysis and present findings and recommendations
Ability to reason, make sound judgments, and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediums
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business
Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations
Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing team environment
Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
