Solution Platform Architect
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is seeking a Solution Platform Architect to lead modernization and migration efforts across legacy systems to cloud-native environments. The role involves designing and approving enterprise-wide hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, ensuring integration across various platforms, and advising senior leadership on cloud strategies.
Responsibilities
Serve as the senior technical authority for designing, reviewing, and approving enterprise-wide hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, ensuring integration across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and on-premise environments
Act as the principal technical advisor to senior leadership and application teams by defining cloud strategy, technology roadmaps, and modernization approaches that support CMS mission objectives and federal cloud mandates
Architect, implement, and govern enterprise hybrid cloud platforms and shared services, defining technical standards, security frameworks, and operational procedures to ensure scalability, reliability, and consistency across CMS programs
Evaluate and approve architectural decisions to ensure compliance with NIST, FedRAMP, Section 508, and CMS enterprise architecture principles, balancing security, cost, and operational risk across mission-critical systems

You will be subject to a background and suitability investigation
You must have IT-related experience, at the GS-14 grade level in the federal government, demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: (1) Attention to Detail, (2) Customer Service, (3) Oral Communication, (4) Problem Solving
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Managing enterprise data center projects to support an organization's modernization of mainframe systems or databases into cloud environments; 2) Designing enterprise architecture solutions to migrate legacy systems into cloud-based applications; 3) Collaborating with inter-agency working groups and industry partnerships to advance mission-critical digital modernization initiatives; AND 4) Providing technical support for key infrastructure services across multiple cloud platforms to ensure operational continuity
