Responsibilities

Performing routine cell culture activities: passaging, cell counting, viability assessment, and antigen expression analysis via flow cytometry
Preparing and seeding tumor cells to support automated and semi-automated assay workflows, including work with 96-well plate formats
Supporting assay setup in coordination with the Automation team (plate preparation and handoff coordination)
Managing plasmid intake and inventory: receiving vials, applying barcoded labels, proper storage, and aliquoting for stakeholders
Providing general molecular biology support (bacterial transformation, plasmid DNA purification, restriction digest, plasmid sequence verification)
Coordinating the preparation, labeling, documentation, and shipment of cell lines, plasmids, and reagents between J&J locations (domestic and international)
Maintaining accurate records in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN) or sample tracking systems
Communicating clearly and proactively with cross-functional and cross-site stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with biosafety, EH&S, and internal transfer/shipping policies
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (Automation, Oncology) to meet timelines and quality standards
Adhering to laboratory SOPs, good laboratory practices (GLP), and internal quality requirements

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline
Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, especially cancer cell lines
Proficiency in aseptic technique, cell handling, and basic cell-based assays
Experience with flow cytometry for viability and antigen expression assessments
Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation
High data quality standards
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills, especially for managing large sample quantities and cross-site collaboration
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented lab environment
Legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
Ability to work on-site in Spring House, PA, during standard business hours

Preferred

Experience supporting high-throughput or automated T-cell based assays
Familiarity with multi-well plate formats (96-well and similar)
Prior experience coordinating cross-site material transfers and shipments
Proficiency with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) or sample/sample tracking systems
Background in oncology, drug discovery, or T cell therapy research
Experience with molecular biology techniques such as plasmid cloning, scale-up, and QC
Ability to adapt to evolving workflows and project priorities
