Help Desk Technician

Lavine, Lofgren, Morris & Engelberg, LLP is seeking a Part-Time Level 1 IT Support Technician to provide frontline technical assistance to end users within a CPA firm environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, basic technical troubleshooting abilities, and an interest in maintaining smooth daily IT operations.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or in person
Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues
Escalate more complex problems to IT Manager when needed
Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions
Support the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
Install and update standard software applications
Log all support requests, activities, resolutions, and updates in the ticketing system
Follow standard operating procedures and maintain documentation
Assist with inventory tracking of IT equipment and peripherals
Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to end users

Required

1+ year of experience in IT support or equivalent coursework/training
Familiarity with Windows workstations and common office peripherals
Familiarity with basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi, IP addressing, VPN, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, and general productivity apps
Ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software issues
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred

Experience with ticketing systems
Basic knowledge of Active Directory or Azure AD
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
Customer support or help desk certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+)
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (e.g., computers, monitors)
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods as needed
