Call Quest Solution is seeking a Lead Oracle Forms & Reports Migration Engineer to oversee the modernization of their legacy Oracle environment. The role involves leading the architecture, migration, validation, and stabilization of a new Linux-based platform, ensuring a successful transition from Windows to Linux while upgrading to Oracle Forms & Reports 12c.
Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Assess current Forms, Reports, and database landscape
Define target-state architecture (app tier, DB tier, client access)
Recommend DB upgrade strategy (12c vs 19c)
Create migration plan & cutover strategy
Configure RHEL 7.9 baseline
Install required OS packages, 32-bit/X11 libraries, kernel parameters
Set up Oracle users, permissions, directory structures
Configure Oracle JDK 8
Install Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c
Install & configure Oracle Forms & Reports 12c
Apply patches using OPatch/bundle patches
Configure WebLogic Admin & managed servers
Design migration approach (Data Pump, RMAN, export/import, upgrade)
Migrate Oracle 10g/11gR2 → 12c/19c
Validate schemas, stored procedures, Forms connectivity
Compile and migrate Forms modules
Resolve compatibility issues
Validate Reports output and formatting
Configure runtime parameters
Validate Java Web Start (JNLP) client launch
OS security hardening (SELinux, firewall, services)
Backup/recovery strategy
Patch management
Knowledge transfer
Production migration planning
Go-live validation
Decommission legacy Windows Oracle servers
