In this role, you will lead the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of process automation and control systems across pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of PLC, SCADA, and control system applications of varying complexity
Define requirements and develop detailed functional and software design specifications
Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, historians, and thin client/server architectures
Support system integration, startup, commissioning, and qualification activities
Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems and process loops
Evaluate and recommend alternative technical solutions
Collaborate directly with clients to define scope, timelines, and deliverables
Travel regionally (approximately 10–25%) as project needs require
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500, PanelView Plus, RSView/FactoryTalk, RSBizWare, RSBatch)
Experience with additional PLC platforms (Siemens, GE, Modicon) and SCADA/HMI systems (iFix, Wonderware, etc.)
Strong knowledge of control networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet)
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing process control systems
Understanding of GMP environments and validation practices
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Valid driver's license required
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or related Engineering field
6+ years of relevant automation/controls engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Preferred
Knowledge of ISA-88 Batch standards and batch system implementation
Instrumentation experience a plus
Pharmaceutical or biotech validation experience
Prior leadership or project ownership experience
