Responsibilities
Assist Quality in establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
Act as key point of contact on designated shift for QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally
Lead, mentor, and train QA team members and/or other departments as needed
Develop and execute continuous improvement projects – i.e., active participation in root cause problem-solving, open communication, generates ideas and assists in implementation
Assist in monitoring and implementing methods and procedures for work activities to include weight control, moistures, decaffeination analysis, sanitation, food safety, and safety
Maintain and monitor equipment to detect issues and ensure effectiveness
Cup production roasts and finished product daily
Conduct internal audits to ensure quality and food safety of our products and assist in developing corrective action steps to correct deviation
Conduct and monitor the analysis/inspection finished products to ensure compliance with set specifications
Collecting and compiling relevant quality statistical data
Meet with coworkers as necessary to discuss quality issues and workflow
Act as a lead sensory trainer to the Quality Team and Operations
Abide by all OSHA regulations and ensure work areas are free of safety violations. Immediately report safety hazards or unsafe acts to supervisor
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of three years' experience as Quality Assurance Technician / Inspector in food, chemical, agricultural or manufacturing facility
Previous sensory and analysis skills
High school diploma or GED
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to make independent judgments
Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and interact effectively as a team contributor supporting company initiatives
Skill and ability to use PC and widely used software packages, i.e., Microsoft Excel, Work, and Outlook
Demonstrated leadership qualities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Must comply with all Federal, State, Corporate, Warehouse and Food Safety standards, policies, and guidelines (i.e. HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA, etc.)
Must be willing and able to frequently lift 25 lbs
Must be willing and able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
Preferred
Degree preferred in science with some technical or college courses preferred
