Responsibilities
Perform commissioning activities and optimize building energy systems
Lead on-site commissioning investigations and troubleshoot system performance issues
Provide MEP technical guidance throughout the design and construction phases
Support energy audits, feasibility studies, and system optimization initiatives
Serve as a technical liaison between engineers, contractors, and building owners to ensure alignment, quality, and performance
Participate in industry engagement, professional development, and continuing education activities
Mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of internal standards, processes, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon, or ability to obtain within 12 months
Minimum of six years of experience in MEP system design, commissioning, or related consulting work
Proven experience with HVAC and central plant systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound, timely decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing experience
Ability to evaluate concepts and systems with accuracy and insight
Demonstrates accountability, follow-through, and resilience
Able to bring clarity to complex or ambiguous situations by linking technical details to practical outcomes
Effectively balances quality, schedule, and client expectations through sound professional judgment
Preferred
Healthcare facility experience is highly desirable
