Responsibilities
Ability to operate, guide, and troubleshoot mechanical development and lab testing equipment
Proficiency in basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and validation of technician collected data
Knowledge of tool/gage tracking, calibration intervals, labeling, storage, and readiness for engineering studies
Strong skills in Excel for structured data_logs, template creation, review of test entries, and report generation
Ensures accurate, traceable, and compliant documentation across lab logs, safety records, equipment checklists, and reports
Understanding of lab safety rules, PPE, chemical handling, storage, spills, and ability to oversee safety/chemical audits
Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute mechanical/functional test workflows for prototype surgical device evaluations
Ability to work with engineers, R&D, quality, tissue lab teams, and support functions to meet study timelines
Skill in identifying equipment/test issues and providing quick resolution or escalation to engineering teams
Ability to train and mentor technicians on equipment operation, measurement, documentation, and safety practices
Exposure to materials analysis techniques (preferred)

Mechanical Development Equipment Expertise
