Back-Office Supervisor - Santa Monica Internal Medicine-Pediatrics & Immediate Care

Assisting with clinical management and administrative coordination for clinics within the assigned Region
Combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative nursing responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Current California RN License
Bachelor's degree in nursing or Masters (must be able to provide Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program)
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
3 years ER, Acute Care or Urgent Care and Pediatric Experience
Knowledge of the Adult and Pediatric patient population and practice operations
Knowledge of all aspects procedures and medication administration in an urgent care setting
Ability to assume direct involvement and provide backup support during clinic emergencies and in patient related problem solving
Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through for multiple patient treatments
Phlebotomy and IV skills
Skill in performing with frequent interruptions an/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and respond and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Ability to utilize appropriate interpersonal skills in all interactions
Ability to accept direction and promptly follow through on other duties as assigned with minimal supervision
Experience and knowledge to accurately screen and triage acute patients
Knowledge and experience to recognize abnormal laboratory values and respond
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians and administrators
Skill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretion
Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and general public in a high volume, clinical setting
Ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, and hostility
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgment
Preferred
Possession of PICC line certification
Knowledge and skill in Central line Catheter management and access
Skill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform necessary blood tests and procedures
Working knowledge of the UCLA registration system, appointment scheduling system and order entry system
