Responsibilities

Become a Syracuse-located Research Director (not remote)

Collaborate with and follow the direction of the Center leadership

Support ongoing research efforts and oversee the research direction and grants of the CDI

Lead grant writing

Work with CDI affiliated grad and undergrad students providing research mentorship as well as advisement

Collaborate with other faculty

Be involved in an array of activities in the CDI

Teach undergraduate or graduate courses in inclusive special education or research methodologies

Interface with other university resources and units

Qualification

Doctorate in special educationResearch in inclusive educationGrant writing experienceBackground in disability studiesQuantitative methods expertiseProject management experienceTeaching experienceDiverse communitiesCollaborative leadership

Required

Doctorate in special education, inclusive education, or closely related field

Successful and active research agenda in inclusive special education and disability

Previous experience as a PI on external grants

Evidence of success in securing funding

Record of successful university teaching

Preferred

Background in disability studies in education, inclusive education, critical special education, inclusive education policy, inclusive post-secondary education, and/or technology innovation focused on disability

Experience seeking federal and foundation research and/or large technical assistance grants

Administrative, project management, and collaborative experience leading and supervising teams of faculty, staff, and graduate students

Background in quantitative methods and analysis, CritQuant, big data, or GIS mapping

Experience in working with diverse communities and inclusively meeting diverse student needs

Commitments to inclusive education for all people from asset and equity based perspectives
